In 2021, I won the QUB Student Union Dragon’s Den Competition for the FUZE idea.
After extensive efforts to bring the FUZE project to fruition, including presentations to companies, government agencies, and participation in Plexal’s Cyber Runway programme, it became evident that significant investment and technical development were required to create a viable product. Unfortunately, despite these efforts, the necessary interest and investment did not materialize.
In light of this, I have decided to redirect the £3,000 prize money towards a meaningful cause. I’m pleased to announce that I will be donating the following items to QLab:
- 2 NVIDIA GPUs: To empower students in creating, training, and utilizing cutting-edge AI models.
- 2 RAM Upgrades: To enhance the performance of older computers within the lab.
- 1 Meta Quest 3: Dedicated to the development of VR projects.
- $300 Voucher for Daz3D: For advancing the development of VR projects.
QLab provided invaluable support during the development phase of FUZE, and I believe it is fitting to contribute these resources to benefit future students at EEECS. My hope is that these donations will foster innovation and potentially inspire entrepreneurial ventures through QLab.
I’d like to thank Dr Bustard for his mentorship and guidance, as well as Alex Barnes, who without his expertise, the FUZE would not be possible.
